I don't see why changing name is such a big deal that we are
wasting time making a fuss out of it. As long as we are still proud of
our heritage, still see ourselves as Vietnamese, still ..... eat rice
and fishsauce..:) still get involved in Vietnamese traditional
festivities, and most importantly, still speaking Vietnamese.... then
any name is just fine. I understand that we should preserve what have
been given to us from our parents, from our culture, but I don't think
our parents would mind us getting name changed and wouldn't feel bad
about it. Why? 'cause they and our friends & relatives still call us by
that Vietnamese name anyway, right? So, please be understanding to those
who have had their names changed.
