We are standing at the entrance to a kind of street mall in Munich.(Who is this?) |

(TOM) We left early Monday morning for Munich. It was about a four hour drive. We were using Jana's car. She has a VW Polo. Polo's aren't sold in the USA, but it's kind of like a miniature Golf. It was roomy enough though, and no complaints since we didn't have to get a rental car. We stayed at some girl's apartment. She was a friend of a friend of Jana's. The first thing we did was to head for the grocery store. I really enjoyed to be able to do this everyday kind of stuff in Germany. I think I got more out of the trip, since I got to do some things that most tourists wouldn't do; since we traveled with the natives. We had lunch in a restaurant/drinking hall down the street from this arch. Eliot and I didn't think it was so good. We all got something different. I had this pig's leg thing. To drink I had a Ratler, which is 1/2 beer and 1/2 lemonade. Tastes really good, and I drank that a lot. I've recreated the Ratler in America with some Berhoff Pilsner and Sprite; with limited success. |
