3.4.11.1 Digital Unix (DEC Alpha)

Digital Unix is partially supported on DEC Alpha workstations. Due to the small number of Alpha workstations in the department, it is not an effective use of limited resources to provide full support. We will make every reasonable effort to support all software on Digital Unix, however, we reserve the right to limit support on a case-by-case basis. Note also that not all Alpha systems are supported.

3.4.11.2 Redhat Linux (x86)

Redhat Linux support on x86 computer systems is currently in early beta test.

In order to make effective use of limited resources, we are limiting support to those configurations that have been prequalified by our staff and have sufficient numbers in the department to justify support. Please consult the lab for information about currently supported configurations before purchasing or acquiring a computer system to run Linux.
