3.4.15.4.1 Sun Workshop Fortran Compilers (f77 and f90)

There are two Sun Workshop Fortran compilers installed in /opt/SUNWspro/bin on Solaris Sparc and x86 systems:

• f77
  • compatable with all Fortran 77 constructs
  • compatabile with all Fortran 66 constructs
  • compatable with VMS Fortran
• f90
  • not installed on Solaris x86 systems
  • compatabile with Fortran 90 contructs

Both compilers support the -g flag for debugging with dbx debugger.

3.4.15.4.2 Digital Unix Fortran (f77)

f77 on Digital Unix (dec alpha) computers implements Fortran 77, and is "highly compatable with VMS Fortran".

f77 supports the -g flag for debugging with dbx
