Work Experience

  • 2011-2012 : I worked on developing parts of the Monitoring, Metrics, Alarming, Periodic Actions and Hadoop/Hive based large scale log processing parts of the AWS DynamoDB NOSQL database service.
  • 2006-2008 : I worked for 2 years at the Amazon.com Development Center in Chennai, India with wonderful colleagues in the Digital Technology (Kindle) Team and learned a lot on Product development, testing, deployment and people skills.

Research and Teaching Experience

  • 2009-Present : I was a Research Assistant for a few semesters during this period under Profs. Andrea and Remzi Arpaci-Dusseau (my advisors) working on several projects broadly in the area of File and Storage systems.
  • Fall 2015 : I was a Student Assistant Lecturer for CS 354: Machine Organization and Programming for a semester during which I lectured one of the sections. I also worked together with the other section's Lecturer and the TAs to prepare and grade exams and assignments.
  • 2012-2014 : I was a Teaching Assistant for CS 536:Intro to Compilers and Programming Languages for a few semesters during this period. I held office hours to help students learn better and graded projects/assignments.
  • Fall 2008 : I was a Lab Teaching Assistant for CS 302:Introductory Programming in Java course for a semester during which I monitored undergraduate students during lab sessions, held office hours to help students learn better and creating lab assignments along with other Teaching Assistants.

Internship Experience

  • Summer 2010: I was fortunate to intern at NEC Labs, Princeton during the Summer of 2010 with the Storage Technology Group under the mentorship of Nitin Agrawal and Cristian Ungureanu.
