(TOM) They said it would be cold and dirty in the mine, so everyone had to put on these miners' clothes. Then we got on this little train and headed into the mine. It was a long ride in. The tour guide spoke in German, but at each exhibit they had recordings in English so we could understand. Mining salt leaves large empty caverns in the mountains. One we were in, wasn't salty enough anymore so they had stopped using it. There was about a 50 by 50 yard lake in this cavern and we crossed it on a little barge. I tasted the water, it was about 25% salt.
