Leo Prasath Arulraj
I work on Virtual Storage Performance (more broadly on Software Defined Storage) under the wonderful guidance of Prof.Andrea Arpaci-Dusseau and Prof.Remzi Arpaci-Dusseau while simultaneously spending significant time trying to explain myself the flawless magic they create every single time. They are amazing advisors and I am more than fortunate to have them as my academic parents.

- Presented a poster with preliminary results on our work titled "Performance Study of Stacked File Systems as Virtual Storage" at the recent WISDoM Workshop. More to come soon.
- Our team releases DynamoDB - low latency NOSQL database

Work Experience
- 2011-2012 : I worked on the Monitoring, Metrics, Alarming, Periodic Actions and Hadoop/Hive based large scale log processing parts of the AWS DynamoDB NOSQL database service
- 2006-2008 : I worked for 2 years at the Amazon.com Development Center in Chennai, India with wonderful colleagues in the Digital Technology (Kindle) Team and learned a lot on Product development, testing, deployment, people skills. [ sometimes, the hard way. ;) ]
Internship Experience
- I was fortunate to intern at NEC Labs, Princeton during the Summer of 2010 with the Storage Technology Group under the mentorship of Nitin Agrawal and Cristian Ungureanu. It is a really nice Lab and a wonderful Group.
Teaching Experience
- I was a Lab Teaching Assistant for an Introductory Programming in Java course for a semester during which I monitored undergraduate students during lab sessions, held office hours to help students learn better and creating lab assignments along with other Teaching Assistants. It was a fun and rewarding experience to interact with new undergraduate students from various departments who are mostly just getting introduced to Computer Science / Programming.
