Netscape Messenger® setup for Alpha account 

Open Netscape® and select Edit on Menu bar

Select Preferences from Edit

On the Preference Screen double click on the Mail & Newsgroups from
    Category (left white box) to expend

Click on the Identity under Mail & Newsgroups 

Put your name and email address These are the name and email address that other
    see when you send emails. You could change your name or email address if you
    want.

On the Preference Screen, double click on the Mail & Newsgroups from
    Category (left white box) to expend

Click on the Mail Servers under Mail & Newsgroups 

In Outgoing (SMTP) server box, ( * SMTP : Simple Mail Transfer Protocol)
    put mail.uwm.edu

In Ouging mail server username box,
    Put your domain of your email address
     ex) If your email address is jkim@csd.uwm.edu, your User Name is jkim

In the Incoming Mail Servers box, click on the Add button 
If you have any Mail Server , you need to delete it first by click on Delete Button

Your Server Name is alpha(first letter of your email address).csd.uwm.edu
    ex) If your email address is jkim@csd.uwm.edu, your server is alphaj.csd.uwm.edu

Choose POP3 Sever for Server Type     * POP (Post Office Protocol)

Put your domain of your email address for User Name
     ex) If your email address is jkim@csd.uwm.edu, your User Name is jkim

When Netscape Messanger® gets emails from the Server (Alpha Account),
    It usually get messages and then delete them from the server, This setting is
    good when you use only one computer to get emails but if you log on to the
    server from different computers you might not want to choose this option.
    If you choose Leave message on server option the program get only copy of 
    messages and leave original message in the server, There is also option for
    deleting messages. Choose the option that works best for you.

 
For advanced user, you could change other options like window setting,
    address book and etc. If you are a basic user , I recommend to leave 
    other settings. 

You can open Netscape Messenger® by clicking on the icon from
    or by clicking on the icon in right bottom of the Netscape® window.
