Computing, Data, and Information Sciences Forward! FUND

In late 2019, Mark D. Hill and Susan M. Dentinger established with the UW Foundation and seeded the Computing, Data, and Information Sciences Forward! Fund for the benefit of the new Computing, Data, and Information Sciences School (CDIS).

This Fund honors how UW-Madison facilitated Mark D. Hill's success in the field of Computer Sciences, and honors Susan M. Dentinger's success as a UW-Madison Librarian. As the two disciplines merge into one school, Mark and Sue believe the gift will make a greater impact in the start-up phase of the School than in the individually established departments.

The purpose of this Fund is for any use that builds or sustains community within CDIS, furthers CDIS's mission, or both. A preference -- but not a requirement -- is that these flexible funds be used especially where more restricted funds cannot (easily) be used, and that they be applied to multiple smaller opportunities rather than one or few larger opportunities. Permitted use includes funding events, refreshments (possibly including alcohol), and communication and outreach among CDIS members -- faculty, staff, or students -- and/or external stakeholders levels within and beyond the University of Wisconsin-Madison and State. Provisions were also made should CDIS become a College or dissolve.

Crypto currency donations with Coinbase are also possible via contacting the UW Foundation's Nick Jaeger.

Thank you and On, Wisconsin!
